Senegal: CAOPA offers a laptop to women of Nianing

NIANING-Mbour- January 5, 2022- CAOPA has donated a laptop to the Women’s Solidarity Fund of Nianing (CSFN) -Mbour. The donation ceremony of the computer tool was done on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the house of the fishermen of the locality.
The objective is to allow women to professionalize and to be at the forefront of information technology and communication.

The event mobilized about thirty women representing the different economic interest groups (EIG) members of the fund, technical advisors, CAOPA team and a radio presenter on fishing in Senegal.
The ceremony took place in a relaxed atmosphere. The beneficiaries did not fail to praise CAOPA and its President Gaoussou Gueye for the support they have received since the beginning of their activities in 2014.

The manager of the Solidarity Fund, Mrs. Fatou SÈNE DIATTA says: “The laptop is a very important tool for us in the accounting management of the fund. Because before this day, all our data were recorded on paper. So this tool will help us to digitalize and better archive our data. We thank CAOPA”.

For his part, the president of CAOPA, Gaoussou GUEYE emphasized the essential role of women in the artisanal fishing sector and their central place in the household. He appreciated the success of the solidarity fund, based on respect, solidarity and trust.

This fund has become an example of successful management of financial resources for African coastal communities.
Mr. Gueye made a commitment to do everything possible to support these women to improve their working conditions.
Women are asking for such actions to strengthen their working capacities and management of their resources.
